2020 NSW Pearcey Award for the Tech Entrepreneur of the Year
The winner of the NSW State Award, the 22nd ICT Entrepreneur of the Year, was Jamila Gordon, CEO and Founder of Lumachain. Held on 13 October as a Virtual Award event, the presentation was made by Prof. Mary O’Kane AC, 2014 Pearcey Medallist who also delivered the key note address for the evening.
The presentation followed a special Pearcey National event Celebrating Women’s contribution to Australia’s digital age, being held online as part of Ada Lovelace Day with the support of the Tech Girls Movement Foundation.

In the spirit of the day, part of the NSW Award program, was an enlightening panel discussion with past NSW Pearcey Award Winners and Hall of Famers including: Emma Lo Russo (2016), Dr Silvia Pfeiffer (2005 & 2018), Dr Catriona Wallace (2015) and Jennifer Zanich (2013); moderated by Jo Burston (2012).
The NSW Pearcey Entrepreneur Award recognises a NSW person in “mid career”, who is already a successful Tech Entrepreneur, and who has the potential to succeed further. The criteria are centred around taking a risk, making a difference and being an inspiration.
